  • Congratulations to Phillip Gray! Phillip was selected as November Teen of the Month by the Oglesby Elks Club! One goal of the Elks Teen of the Month program is to give recognition to teenagers who strive diligently above the rest to become more of a complete citizen and individual.  Students are selected for this honor on the basis of Character, Leadership, Service, Citizenship, Community Service, Scholarship and Best Multiple Achievements. Phillip’s application will move on to the next level of competition for Teen of the Year. St Bede did not have a December Teen of the Month. The next and last application deadline is Jan 20th.

  • Because of all the different sports & activities scheduled for this Thursday and throughout the week, the Scotland/Ireland Final Departure meeting scheduled for this Thursday evening has been changed. It is now on Sunday, Dec 15th at 3:15 pm in the PSC commons. Please try to attend as we will be covering important details about travel, communication and activities while on our trip. Remember to bring $26 to Ms. Bernabei asap to cover the cost of the traditional Irish dinner & show on the last night of the trip.

  • Seniors - FAFSA completion night is tonight 5:30 – 8 pm in the fishbowl. Parents & students are invited to attend.  If you bring all of the required information with you, you can complete and submit the FAFSA tonight. See your email for a list of items you will need to bring.

  • Musical auditions tonight in Mrs. Griggs room any time between 6:30-8.  Please use fire escape door by gym to enter school.  If you cannot make tonight, your last opportunity will be Thursday after school from 3-4:30.  Please make sure you have filled out the google form for your audition.  Anyone that would like help with audition music may see Mrs. Griggs immediately after school today.

  • A set of keys have been turned into the main office.  If you are missing your set of keys, please stop by to claim them.

  • Tomorrow we will have a bilingual Mass in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Some of the readings, prayers and responses will be in Spanish. Please practice these with your religion and Spanish classes--the texts  will be in the booklet tomorrow as well. Special thanks to Mr. Garcia and his Spanish students who will be providing the music.

  • St. Bede wrestling placed 14th out of 20 teams at a very tough Seneca Irish Invite over the weekend. Two Bruins walked away with medals on Saturday. Mikey Benge earned 3rd place in the 113 lb. weight class and Max Moreno placed 2nd in the 126 lb. weight class. Congratulations to both of the freshman varsity wrestlers!

  • Any student who is interested in the Illinois Association of English Teachers' Writing, Art, & Photography Contests should check with Mrs. Rynkewicz. The contests are open to students who would like to submit poetry, prose, and/or art. See Mrs. Rynkewicz TODAY if you need more information.

  • Students interested in participating in the spring musical this year should join the google classroom and be on the lookout for this year's show, which will be announced soon! The google classroom code is 4polime. Auditions are going to be held before winter break, but rehearsals will not start until January. The musical is scheduled for Thursday, March 27- Sunday, March 30.

  • All students taking an IVCC class 2nd semester need to complete the online registration and turn in the purple course selection form to Mrs. Makransky in the main office.  Instructions to complete the online registration were emailed to you last Friday.  If you need help or have any questions see Ms. Bernabei ASAP.

  • Students traveling to Scotland and Ireland: all travelers have turned in all the required documents needed for the trip including the Health form.  If you receive an email from EF asking you to turn in required forms see Ms. Bernabei ASAP.

  • Teens Encounter Christ is a local retreat program held in Peterstown near Mendota. Also known as TEC, this retreat weekend is designed to help deepen your relationship with God through dynamic reflections, small group dialogue, music, and prayer.  Junior and seniors are eligible to attend—-you do not have to be Catholic to participate. There is a TEC for boys the first weekend in December. See Fr. Dom or Mr. Davy if you have any interest or questions, or to get a registration form.

  • Attention bowlers: the bus is up and running every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday when the bowling teams are at the SuperBowl for practices or matches.  Bus departs at 2:55pm from the PSC.  Tuesdays will be as needed and students needing rides on Tuesdays will need to coordinate with Mr. Armato.

  • Students are not to park anywhere but the student parking lot on school days or on days when faculty and staff are present.  If a student has an early or late practice or event, they are to park in student parking lot and walk to their athletic area.
