About
We are Saint Bede
In 1890 St. Bede Academy was founded to provide a Catholic education for young men. Over the years there have been many changes but in the midst of change the monastic community has remained true to its vow of stability and has continued to offer a quality catholic education to prepare young people for further education and their future role in the world and the church.
St. Bede Academy is a proud institution with a long-standing reputation for academic and spiritual excellence and growth. Our curriculum is built on a foundation of Catholic tradition in the Order of St. Benedict, which emphasizes stability, prayer, service, community, and humility, among other hallmarks of Benedictines. All students take classes in religion/theology, take time for prayer and reflection, and attend worship services led by our monastic community.
We also have created a curriculum that is rooted in preparation for a successful post-secondary education. Our required courses are based upon state universities and their requirements for admission. Students at St. Bede Academy receive a high-quality education from teachers who truly know their students and foster growth in their students, both as scholars and citizens.
We have a time-honored focus on discipline and stewardship, both in and out of the classroom. Whether students are adhering to our campus dress code, following our cell phone policies, or seeking opportunities for deeper learning, St. Bede has the necessary framework for a fulfilling life as a spiritual disciple and an academic scholar. From their first foray on campus during Chaplain’s Day, to their celebration of 50 years as a Golden Bedan, our students, both present and past, show why St. Bede Academy is WHERE YOU BELONG!
