Why the Refectory Matters
At Saint Bede Academy, the student refectory is more than just a place to eat - it's the beating heart of campus life.
While it serves its primary role as the daily dining area, the refectory is also where friendships are forged, ideas are shared and community thrives.
Students come together here not just for meals, but for meetings, events, celebrations and quiet moments of connection. It's a dynamic space where the rhythm of student life unfolds each day.
The refectory has seen many transformations over the decades. The last time it was restored was in the mid-90s. Thirty years ago, it was beautifully renovated in honor of Alicia Gedraitis (Class of 1995). That effort not only refreshed the space, but also uncovered and restored the original tin ceiling - long hidden above drop tiles.
This year’s Fund-A-Need focuses on restoring and updating the heart of our campus. The project includes installing two exit doors and 17 energy-efficient windows, refurbishing of tin ceiling and upgrading lighting, finishes and design.
Your Gift Makes a Difference
This project isn't just about renovation - it's about renewing a vital part of student life. Your support will ensure future generations continue to gather, grow and create memories in this meaningful space.
Donors of $500 or more will be invited to a special Refectory Appreciation Party: A Celebration of Gratitude & Giving on Thursday, Dec. 11.
Help us preserve the past, enhance the present and invest in the future!
