As a Saint Bede community, we surpassed last year’s fundraising total of $263,000 by an impressive 8%. Our total raised this year is $286,000, and donations are continuing to arrive. A special congratulations to our amazing students for achieving 100% participation. Your support is deeply appreciated, and your participation made a world of difference. Thank you again to everyone for your generosity and for helping make this year’s St. Benedict’s Day a resounding success! We truly could not have done it without the support of our staff, faculty, and students.

• Congratulations to seniors Emerald De La Torre and  Carson Riva for being selected as the January Teens of the Month by the Oglesby Elks Club! Students are selected for this honor on the basis of Character, Leadership, Service, Citizenship, Community Service, Scholarship and Best Multiple Achievements.

• The track and field teams are hosting a fish fry this Friday night at the Ladd Moose from 4:30-7:30 PM.  See any track athlete for tickets or more information.  

• There will be a Jeans Day this Friday.  The cost is $3.00 and will go toward the Clubs here at St. Bede.

• Scholastic Bowl this week: Thursday practice after school in the Art Studio, then head to Abbot Vincent Gymnasium to cheer on the Bruins to a Regional Championship. WHOOOO, go Bruins!!! Then Saturday is the Masonic Tournament in Princeton.

• If you are interested in being involved with Illinois Valley Youth Little League this summer as an umpire, scorekeeper, or concession stand worker, please see Mrs. Theisinger in Room 102. There are paid and volunteer opportunities available!

• Attention freshmen: all those interested in hosting an 8th grade shadow, please turn your request sheets in to Mr. Steben by the end of the day TODAY. If you do not turn in a sheet, you will not be considered to lead a student!

• The Saint Bede softball team will be hosting the first fish fry of the season on Friday Feb. 20 from 4-9 pm at the Ladd Moose Club.  Come and support the team before heading to senior night and the last home varsity basketball game.  Tickets can be purchased from a softball player or at the door for $15.
